Residential buildings Valkas Str. Riga , Latvia
The project of apartment houses in Riga, on the corner of Valka and Vera Streets was a challenge for construction workers due to the extremely limited space - the borders of the construction site stretched to the bearing structures of the building and the scaffolds along them. There was no additional place for placements of the equipment and reserves of materials.
The project of the building was not difficult itself; however, it was difficult to place and assemble the glass panes, which formed the outer wall of the object due to narrowness and nonstandard size of glass panes and unusual angle. Given the large proportion of glass for the project, there were chosen energy-efficient windows, parts and assemblies to achieve the ratio of energy efficiency under 60 kWh/m2.
