He started working in the UPB holding in 2007, when he became the Financial Director of AILE Grupa. A year later, he became a Member of the Management Board of AILE Grupa, and since 2012 he is the Chairman of the Management Board of this company. Along with his work in AILE Grupa, since 2010 Dainis Berzins has been entrusted with the post of the Chairman of the Manament Board at UPB energy. In 2015 became a Chairman of the UPB Management Board.

He started his professional career in 2001 as an economist in SIA Ventspils Reiss. Later, starting in 2003, he gained four years of experience as an auditor and financial consultant working for the company Ernst & Young.

Dainis Berzins has studied at the Ventspils University College, where he got his bachelor degree in business management with a specialisation in finance and logistics management. He obtained his master’s degree in business management at the Ventspils University College as well. He expanded his knowledge in the fields of audit, transactions and taxation in the EU; he has also studied the International Financial Reporting Standards.
